The Austrian Quality Award - Staatspreis Unternehmensqualität is a distinction for excellent work and consistent further development of an organisation. It is presented to Austrian profit and non-profit companies.

The Austrian Quality Award - Staatspreis Unternehmensqualität is the only Award that cannot be won but that needs to be worked at. In this context, organisations undergo intensive assessment made by experts from practice.

The Austrian Quality Award – Staatspreis Unternehmensqualität is presented in the following categories:

• Large enterprises
• Small and medium-sized enterprises
• Non-Profit Organizations
• Corporate departments or divisions; subsidiaries with limited autonomy

Basis for Evaluation
The organisations need to evidence they have made a significant contribution to meeting the requirements of all the stakeholders – the customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and society – for several years.

Evaluation Procedure
The applicants prepare a status quo report of their organization based on the EFQM Model. An interdisciplinary, specially trained and independent assessors’ team evaluate strengths and improvement potential as well as the quantitative Excellence level. After the assessors’ team’s site visit and the ensuing feedback, the jury decides which organizations will be honored.

The presentation of the Austrian Quality Award – Staatspreis Unternehmensqualität 2010 will be on October 7th 2010 in Vienna.
