EFQM Committed to Excellence

Even the longest journey starts with a single step. The EFQM Committed to Excellence is designed to help ensure that first step is a step in the right direction. Any organisation can be recognised through an assessment based on the EFQM Excellence Model. Recognition schemes are all about celebrating achievement and creating enthusiasm for progress.  If a company applies for EFQM Committed to Excellence there are two options. Both start with a self-assessment against the EFQM Excellence Model.

Option 1: Project-Validation (C2E 1 Star)

  • Once you've completed the self-assessment, you'll be able to identify your priorities for improvement.
  • You then have 6 to 12 months to implement 3 improvement projects to address these priorities.
  • A Validator will then spend 1 day on-site reviewing the outcomes and lessons learned from these projects.
  • At the end of the validation, you will receive a feedback report detailing the strengths and opportunities for improvement observed.
  • If you can demonstrate you have made clear progress, you will receive the EFQM Committed to Excellence 1 Star recognition.

Option 2: Assessment (C2E 2 Star)

  • If you opt for the assessment method, you will need to prepare a short submission document.
  • 2 Assessors will then spend 1 day on-site to complete 6 themed interviews.
  • They will assess you, and produce a feedback report, against the 9 criteria of the EFQM Excellence Model.
  • Depending on the score you achieve, you will either receive EFQM Committed to Excellence 2 Star or 1 Star recognition.
