European cableways installation regulation (EU) 2016/424
The EC Cableway Regulation is aimed at improving safety of customers and their employees relating to cableway installations. It provides for the same basic safety requirements for cableway installations in all the member states of the European Union. For this purpose, uniform test methods for safey components and partial systems of cableway installations are defined.
- increasing the market share;
- increasing competitiveness;
- increasing customer satisfaction;
- reducing customer audits;
- demonstrating compliance with EU Directives;
- establishing a positive image in the public and among the public authorities
The Regulation wants to establish a safety standard for the users of all the cableway installations in the EU countries, whose level is the same everywhere.
If safety components and partial systems fulfil the criteria of the Directive, they will be granted CE marking. Parts with CE marking can be bought at the same conditions in all the member states.
At the moment special European specifications are being elaborated as harmonized European standards (EN), which are to replace the national safety regulations. The changes primarily refer to the rules for nominating the Works Manager and his/her deputies and acknowledging their nomination. These rules will be supplemented by adding information on qualification and possibilities for exception.
Quality Austria is registered for Cableway installations as a notified body on the basis of the relevant accreditation by the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology in accordance with the rules of the European Regulation 2016/424 in the NANDO list.
