Refreshing Energy Management – Revision of ISO 50001 under consideration of ISO 50003ff

RUMEM | 2 days

In this refresher course, participants get impulses for the improvement of their energy management system and for the improvement of energy performance.

Motivation and benefits

ISO 50001 is and will remain the certification standard for organizations. Objectives of ISO 50001 are:

  • Energy performance improvement
  • Greenhouse gas emissions mitigation
  • Reductions in energy cost

These objectives and targets are becoming more and more important – not only due to the Paris Climate Agreement but due to European and Austrian energy strategies.

ISO 50001 is currently under revision. Publication is expected at the end of 2018, but no later than at the beginning of 2019.

Benefits are a better understanding of possible changes in an audit as well as guidance and recommendations provided by the guidelines. Practical examples further promote the exchange of experience. Participants benefit from this compact training and receive positive input for improving their energy management system and energy performance.

  • Participants effectively integrate the new requirements of ISO 50001 into the existing management system
  • Participants understand the new requirements for calculating audit times
  • Participants can also integrate the guidance and recommendations provided by the Guidelines ISO 50004, ISO 50006 and ISO 50015 into the existing energy management system
  • Focusing on energy management system improvement and energy performance improvement helps to enhance energy efficiency as well as reduce greenhouse gases and energy cost.
  • Participants understand the difference between ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 and implement them in a complex and effective way.
