History of Quality Austria

2024
Quality Austria - Trainings, Zertifizierungs und Begutachtungs GmbH will operate under the name Quality Austria Holding GmbH as of October 1, 2024. The operational business will be taken over by the two subsidiaries: Quality Austria Certification GmbH (certification of individuals, products, management systems, and verification) and Quality Austria Academy GmbH (training, education, and further education).

2006
Quality Austria is accredited for certification for people, managementsystems and products. The first accreditation for managementsystems took place in 1993 (then still OQS), the first accreditation for certification for people followed in 1995 (then still OVQ). 

2004

The second and the last stage (for the time being) towards fusion: OQS/OVQ Sales and Marketing Ltd. is renamed Quality Austria - Trainings, Zertifizierungs und Begutachtungs GmbH.

On 23 March 2004 at a joint board meeting, all four organizations agree upon the following share ownership of Quality Austria as signed by the Presidents and duly notarized: OQS 59%, OVQ 30%, OQA 8% und AFQM 3%.

2003

Start of the gradual merger of OQS Certification and Evaluation Ltd. and OVQ Training & Certification Ltd.

In the first stage, the international operations, sales and marketing of OQS Certification and Evaluation Ltd. and OVQ Training and Certification Ltd. are brought together in OQS/OVQ Sales and Marketing Ltd.
