Konrad Scheiber receives EOQ Georges Borel Award
The European Organization for Quality (EOQ) has celebrated the recipients of the EOQ European Georges Borel Award 2021 in an online celebration event, on September 15th, 2021. Among the award winners of the year 2021 is Prof. Konrad Scheiber, CEO of Quality Austria. He received the Georges Borel Award 2021 for European Achievements.
Promotion of the European quality movement
The Georges Borel Award is presented annually at the EOQ Presidential Meeting in three categories (Governmental, European and Global). In 2021, the award ceremony took place online.
This award recognizes those individuals who devote their time and energy to sharing their beliefs and knowledge for the benefit of European society and who have contributed to the EOQ mission of "improving European society by promoting quality in its broadest sense".
This year, two persons received this high European quality promotion award: From Austria, qualityaustria CEO Konrad Scheiber was honored with the Georges Borel Award for European Achievements. Furthermore, Udo Hanson (DGQ) from Germany was honored.
A career marked by quality
According to the jury's statement, Prof. Konrad Scheiber receives this award (EOQ Georges Borel Award for European Achievements) in recognition of having contributed to the development, application and promotion of the European quality movement through his professional career and his work at the top as well as personally. Scheiber's contribution to the EOQ strategy and transformation process has identified him as an exceptional, visionary and capable leader. At the same time, the results of his visionary and strategic thinking will continue to contribute to the development of EOQ for many years to come.
Konrad Scheiber has been the CEO of Quality Austria since its foundation (2004) and has more than 30 years of experience in the management of certification organizations. Scheiber is also author of various professional publications, Presidential Councilor of Austrian Standards, Senator of the Austrian Senate of Economy and even Member of the Board of Directors at the certification organization LSQA in Uruguay. In May 2021, he was awarded the professional title of Professor by Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen. His achievements contribute to positioning Austria as a center of science and research.
