News from the ISO 45000 group
Some new guidelines have been published in the area of the ISO 45000 group and further guidelines are planned in the coming months or years. Eckehard Bauer, MSc, Executive Vice President Business Development Safety Management, Business Continuity, Risk, Security, Compliance and Transport, Quality Austria, gives an outlook.
At the moment only ISO 45001 can be certified in the ISO 45000 group, all other standards are guidelines and not certifiable.
Work on ISO 45002 is very advanced and a publication is expected in 2022. There is often confusion because the BS (British Standard) has published a BS 45002 series.
ISO 45003 is a guideline with very positive suggestions for managing mental stress in organizations. It should be noted, however, that the legal requirements must always be complied with and the points in ISO 45003 can be very sensibly used in addition, but the law is the priority reference variable.
The ISO / PAS 45005 is a guideline in which the management of the COVID-19 pandemic was specifically addressed. ISO / PAS 45005 is provided by ISO free of charge. However, it is advisable to be careful with the implementation, the ISO / PAS 45005 is subordinate to the applicable laws and only contains suggestions for a COVID-19 management. The ISO 45005 can be used very sensibly to support the existing legal requirements and the ISO standards introduced in the organization and support the organization.
