A new, competency-based Standard for Europe is harmonizing the certification of quality representatives, managers and auditors. For the first time, this Directive places clear requirements on quality personnel. Quality Austria is currently the only recognized certification body in Austria offering training courses in accordance with this Standard.
The European Organization for Quality (EOQ) has celebrated the recipients of the EOQ presidential Georges Borel Awards atthe EOQ Presidential Meeting, in Helsinki/Finland on May 31st, 2016.
On January 1, 2016, Quality Austria as an accredited Certification Body awarded the international label for sustainable timber management, FSC® CoC (Forest Stewardship Council® Chain of Custody), to the Schweighofer Group. This company group, which is leading in wood processing industry and has seven production companies and two trading companies in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany and Rumania, has been certified successfully. Thus compliance with comprehensive FSC® CoC Standards has been acknowledged. Internal rules go beyond the requirements of the FSC Controlled Wood Standard.

And EOQ has celebrated the winner of the European Quality Leader Award 2014 at the 59th EOQ Congress, in Athens/Greece on June 11th, 2015.
On the occasion of this year’s World Quality Day (13th of November) and the World Quality Week from 10th to 16th of November 2014, Quality Austria Training, Certification and Evaluation GmbH takes stock of this year and gives an outlook on future trends and developments. At the beginning of the year, more than 1.1 million companies were certified acc. to ISO 9001 worldwide – this means an increase of 3 per cent as compared to the previous year. Austria could also boast a growth in the number of companies certified from 4562 to 4637.
